Corporate race charters for JPMorgan Private Bank: JPMorgan Asset Management Round the Island Race

The race charter included a two boat campaign, using Farr 40’s ‘Warlord’ and ‘2XL’, both Farr 40 One Designs. Mainsail secured the specifically requested yachts on behalf of JP Morgan and put together a core race crew, capable of racing with a novice crew in a large fleet of racing boats. Skippering the boats on each day were world class sailors Andy Green and George Hendy, brought in to help the guests enjoy their race.

Mainsail’s corporate sailing management for this project was all encompassing: from risk assessment for the client, through to booking accomodation, stocking the yachts with food and refreshments, supply of professional crew onboard, company name branding on both hulls and sails, race entry, apres-sail organisation and even special RIB excursions after the Friday practice sail to view the Portsmouth start of the Volvo Ocean Race.

Mainsail were also involved with sister company JPMorgan Asset Management, title sponsors of the Round the Island event, in the event management of the official regatta village, situated in Cowes Yacht Haven, which included a VIP seating area with waitress service, food court, stage and entertainment throughout the day and evening.
